Sonja Tsypin is a cinematographer from New York City with work ranging from long-form narrative to commercial and music video projects. Sonja's sensibilities as a visual storyteller are informed by her background in fine arts as a painter as well as by her upbringing as a first generation Russian-American. She travels across the U.S. and internationally for jobs with artists like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Alicia Keys, Khalid, Tate McRae, Weezer, Kelsey Lu and Deftones, and clients including Google Pixel, Adidas, WNBA, Nissan, Converse, Amazon, Pantene, NFL, and Apple. Her work has won and been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards and screened at Tribeca Film Festival, SXSW, Fantasia, Palm Springs Film Festival (Best Short Film) and many more. Her newest feature film, Girls Like Girls, will premiere in theaters nationwide beginning June 19th. Sonja earned her master's degree at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, CA.
